What experience do I need?

You will need at least 2 years experience of handling a motor yacht and a minimum qualification of RYA ICC (a license is required by law in Spain) for Bare Boat Charter. At least one member of your crew should also have experience of basic deck work on board a yacht.
No experience is required if you take the skippered charter option. Please remember that sleeping accommodation will be required for the skipper.
If you are taking an course, no experience is required as you will be under the supervision of your instructor, however, in most cases
Gut Instinct will return to her Denia base each evening and become your 'floating apartment'. No yacht movement will be permitted without your instructor being present.

How do we get to Denia?

Denia is mid way between Alicante and Valencia Airports both of which are served by most of the UK's and Europe's low cost and scheduled airlines as well as many charter flights to Alicante during the summer.
Transfers are not included in your charter rates. Taxi's are available at both airports, or a transfer can be arranged on your behalf using a local company, however, most of our clients prefer to rent a car at the airport - there are many companies offering low cost car hire, and you get the benefit of being able to explore the area as well as the convenience of door to door travel (We can recommend hire companies on request). The drive from either airport is mostly on the motorway and takes about an hour.

What luggage should we use?

Whilst Gut Instinct is spacious, stowage for luggage is limited and you should only use foldable soft luggage that can be stowed under the berths.

What is the handover procedure?

On your arrival at Marina De Denia you should report to our agent, office which is right at the entrance to the quay where Gut Instinct is berthed. They will go through all of the ships systems and safety equipment with you, complete an inventory and condition inspection to ensure that everything is ship shape. They also will take an underwater video of the hull in your presence to ensure that you take over Gut Instinct in absolute prime condition. At the end of the charter period they will again go through the same procedure with you, ensuring a smooth hand back. All of Spain Motoryachts' staff are either English or fluent English speakers ensuring that there are no language barrier problems. Gut Instinct will be handed over to you in pristine clean condition, inside and out and should be returned in similar condition, please note that there is a compulsory end of charter valet which will be charged as an extra.

What happens if we have a problem with the yacht?

Gut Instinct is brand new and she is fully checked before every charter, however in the unlikely event of a system breakdown, our charter agents, Spain Motoryachts who are English owned are on hand 24/7 to assist you in any way that they can. They are the Sealine dealer for the Costa Blanca and have an in depth knowledge of Gut Instinct and her systems. Spain Motoryachts should be your first call for any problem and if they can't sort your problem, they know a man that can!
